From A-to-B-to-C™

Graduate, transfer, and continue your career path

Some students attend Cincinnati State for two years and graduate with an associate’s degree. After graduating, they can easily continue their studies as a junior and earn a bachelor’s degree at one of the many four-year colleges and universities that welcome Cincinnati State grads. Then, they move on with their career.

A-to-B-to-C at Cincinnati State enables them accomplish this, primarily through the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees, often called pre-baccalaureate or “university parallel” degrees. These programs provide the first two years of a bachelor’s degree and prepare students for transfer to a four-year college or university.

It is important that students know the bachelor’s degree requirements of any institution where they plan to transfer. Cincinnati State can customize these degree programs to meet the general and programmatic requirements of the institution where a student plans to complete a bachelor’s degree.

A-to-B-to-C: Associate of Arts degree

The Associate of Arts degree provides the first two years toward bachelor’s degrees in program fields such as communications, criminal justice, education, English, fine arts, history, international affairs, philosophy, political science, pre-law, pre-mortuary science, psychology, social work, sociology, Spanish, theater, urban planning, and urban studies.

Students in the Associate of Arts degree program participate in cooperative education and internship placements. The co-op/internship placement provides practical training and enriches the academic experience.

A-to-B-to-C: Associate of Science degree

The Associate of Science degree provides the first two years toward a bachelor’s degree in program fields such as biology, chemistry, education, mathematics, meteorology, physics, pre-dentistry, pre-medicine, pre-optometry, pre-pharmacy, pre-veterinary medicine, and zoology.

Through the cooperative education program, students in the Associate of Science degree program are matched with career opportunities in the community that provide the chance to experience their chosen career while still in college.

Articulation agreements

Cincinnati State partners with four-year institutions in the region and beyond through formal articulation agreements, and has a strong A-to-B-to-C transfer history with many four-year institutions. These agreements can be college-wide, divisional, and/or programmatic. As a result, many Cincinnati State students make their personal A-to-B-to-C plans a reality.
